Manchester show in remembrance of Steve Lloyd.

Hello all,

I’m playing a show with Badly Drawn Boy, Jo Rose, John Ainsworth and The Bear Around Your Neck at The Roadhouse Manchester on Saturday 12th July. All the proceeds will go to The Christie in remembrance of our good friend Steve Lloyd who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Steve co-owned The Roadhouse and did the front of house sound for me and the Slowdown band across my first album, then for me at numerous shows in the years following. He was a good man, and looked after me and the Slowdowns when we were all young musicians. He’ll be very much missed among the music community in Manchester.

Come and enjoy an evening of excellent music in his honour!

Cast against the clay, cast against the clay,
Into that sole and solemn place
I hold you still, I hold you still
Fragrant from the kill.

Are we distant islands now?
I still feel that heat somehow
I could hold you closer, I could hold you closer.
Am I the tolling bell that hounds you?
My kingdom now surrounds you.
Yes - this time I’ve found you.
I barrel back and buckle up, and barrel back and buckle up
When I’m alone with you.

Swept adrift for days, swept adrift for days,
Could I eat all you allow?
Open up your gates, open up your gates -
I shall heave my chariots now.

Because it’s heavy on your breath, love,
The fever in your frame.
There’s a pleasure in your flesh, love
Calling out my name.
Am I the tolling bell that hounds you?
Such sweet ecstasy surrounds you.
I barrel back and buckle up, and barrel back
When I’m alone with you.

Here poised above the skyline, here from my high trapeze,
It’s the only thing I see, the only thing I see.
As you lay on your side, bruises on your thighs
And I barrel back and buckle up.
And the light pirouettes in the nape of your neck,
I barrel back and I buckle up.
When the mist lifts in the morning, will you call for me?
I barrel back; my knees buckle up.

Would you swallow my shame? Though it was not earned.
In love’s company, does it all return?

Hello everybody, and a Happy New Year.

I’ve been busying myself getting some new music together for a solo EP. Things are starting to take shape nicely, and so I thought I might share this recording with you. It’s not totally finished yet, but definitely in enough shape for your fine, discerning ears. Hope you enjoy it!

In other news, I’m playing at the fourth birthday party of Manchester’s Sound Control venue with a full band on Monday 20th January. There are some tickets available still, so head over to their website now to pick some up.

There’s a couple of tickets left for my solo show at Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre as well. Hurry along, good people of Cheltenham!

I’ll be announcing more dates and musical plans soon. Can’t wait to play for you all again.

Take care,

Liam x

A little bit further along the way I’ll be playing at Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre on Thursday 20th March. Tickets for that are also on sale now, and you can pick those up at the Everyman Theatre’s site.

Obviously I’ll be booking a few more in pretty soon - keep your peepers peeled for them!

Hello,

Here’s the video for the new single from my other musical adventure, TOKOLOSH. It’s called UNKNOWN ANIMAL - hope you like it, folks!

If you’re into our stuff, do give us a follow on Twitter and like us on Facebook. All of that stuff is super helpful, and very much appreciated.

If you’re around Manchester in December, TOKOLOSH are supporting I Am Kloot at Manchester Apollo. Tickets are available HERE. We’re also playing some UK dates through November.

I’ll be back soon with news of a new solo EP (!) and some more solo shows for 2014.

Hope you’re well,

Liam x

A message for the London and Manchester folk that I’ll be seeing this week, and a new song too - enjoy!

Who’s Gonna Love You?

When the crooked old sun
Comes burning up your back wall.
I heave my rope toward the shore,
Steer the rudder once more.

When the morning is sole and same,
In the morning I’ll call your name.
Punctuate that stormy dream,
The ascending arc of warmth is me.

Stretching out along the hillside,
Burning hot against your skin.
Lonely ghost haunting the coastline,
Has your face fallen again?

I’m standing with you, side by side.
The sweetest wine will meet my seared kiss,
Take your love and I will shield it.
I’m standing with you, side by side.
You’re pouring scorn, scorn, scorn,
Your sorrow eyes, soft and sore.
I’m sending sweet stings to your door,
From those wild places.

Well god damn, the night!
Say, can you dig that moonlight?
In the babbling brook we shook, we conspired,
Let the cool water quell my desire.

'Til that sun found us again,
Burning hot against our skin.
Lonely shadow on the coastline,
I do believe she is my twin.
